Discussion Participation
Each week you will be asked to participate in the discussion forum as part of your overall class grade. In this class, the discussion forum augments the conversation that occurs in our Zoom meetings. In addition, your entries in the discussion forum also act as weekly assignments which demonstrate your understanding of the course material. Your total discussion participation (online and in Zoom) accounts for 20% of your overall course grade from now until the end of the semester.
The following outlines deadlines for Forum participation:
--POST QUESTIONS AND SURPRISES NO LATER THAN MIDNIGHT ON THURSDAYS
--POST RESPONSES NO LATER THAN SUNDAY AT MIDNIGHT (100 words minimum per response)
ABOUT QUESTIONS: Good questions do not merely seek answers because answers only lead to more questions. Good questions inspire discussions which generate many possible answers (and, it is hoped, more questions).
- Post a substantive response (see below) and read through your classmates responses to the discussion questions and engage meaningfully (see below) with 3 of your classmates' initial postings by Sunday at 11:59 pm.
