Week 9 - Overview and Lightroom Videos
This week you should continue to practice the various techniques and strategies for photographing moving subjects. Remember, how you choose to render the motion (sharp or blurred) will greatly impact the aesthetic, mood and story the image tells. If you've been leaning toward one approach over the other try to force yourself to try something new. For example, if you've been successful at capturing tack sharp images of moving subjects try to focus on working with slower shutter speeds and capturing motion blur.
We're also going to continue working on our post processing workflow using Lightroom. Last week you had your first Master File due. We will have one more of these assignments during the rest of the semester. Each of these remember is one image, exported from LR with the adjustments and shared with me so I can import the file into LR and see your adjustments in real time. The following videos will provide an overview of a few more organizational/workflow tips as well as a technique to speed the processing of groups of images.
The Image/Discussion Post theme this week will require you to post a before and after version of one of your images. The subject can be anything you like. You'll post a copy of the original image and then the processed or finished version with a description of your vision for the image and how you processed it.
As I mentioned previously in this current version of LR all of the selective adjustment tools are now organized and found in an area called MASKS. Below is another helpful YouTube video describing how to use this functionality.
