Before you begin the steps, please email CCVDeanofStudents@ccv.edu to let us know you are interested in earning CCV's Leadership Endorsement. CCV will enroll you in the program so you will receive updates, reminders, important deadlines and support from the College.

*Enrollment is free, and you are under no obligation to complete the endorsement. You will not receive homework, grades, or a bill.

Step One

During your time at CCV, complete 80 hours of approved leadership activities and training. Up to half (40) of leadership hours can be accumulated through paid student leadership positions. At least half of a student’s leadership hours must be accumulated through unpaid activities. All hours can be unpaid approved activities.

Before you undertake an activity, speak with the dean of students, the SACL/PTK advisor, or your academic advisor to make sure it is a true leadership activity. Please remember that engaging in service or participating in an activity does not necessarily constitute leadership. Participating in a campus clean-up for Earth Day would not count toward the endorsement; planning the campus clean-up would.

There is a sampling of approved leadership activities at the bottom of this section.

*Review the Leadership Portfolio and leadership tools provided on this Canvas site BEFORE you begin the 80 hours of leadership work. You will need to apply the tools to your work (see activity 7 in the portfolio).

Step Two

Log and track all of your leadership activities on the Leadership Activity Verification Form.

Step Three

Complete the Leadership Portfolio. You must complete all seven activities in the Portfolio.

Step Four

Craft an up-to-date professional resume. Be sure your resume highlights your accomplishments as a student leader. For assistance building a dynamic resume, work with your CCV career consultant.

Step Five

When you have completed and compiled your leadership endorsement submission packet, email the materials to CCVDeanofStudents@ccv.edu. Your materials will be reviewed by the academic dean and the dean of students.

The submission packet is comprised of three easy pieces:

Leadership Activity Verification Form with required signatures.
A copy of your resume
Leadership Endorsement Portfolio, comprised of 7 activities and any corresponding documents
