Faculty Welcome

Information about me:

Marie A. O'Brien

I just wanted to share a little bit about myself:

  • I walk and hike with my friends.
  • I belong to Kent Quilters, but I don’t sew. I believe they keep me around for comic relief and organizational structure
  • I live in Kent, Connecticut
  • I have been teaching for CCV since 2007. That’s a funny story, but for another time.
  • As far as I am concerned the best part of my week is teaching at CCV.
  • Yes, my commute is 3 hours when I teach face-to-face.
  • I have 6 children- 4 In-law children and 4 Grandchildren.
  • In 2019, I caught a flight to Florence, Italy after the Spring Semester ended and the Summer Session began by myself. I have never been there and don’t speak Italian. I had a blast. I stayed in a neighborhood and the people were so nice to me with hand signs and smiles anyone can have a conversation.
  • I have owned companies since I was 25 years old.
  • In 2019, I went dog sledding. What fun. I was not good at it, but it was on my bucket list.
  • If any of you know of a Nova Scotia Duck Toller in need of a home let me know. I love those Little Red River dogs.
