Effective Leadership & Collaboration
Course Description
This course explores the nature and elements of effective leadership. Topics covered will include leadership styles, strategic application of leadership approaches, situational leadership, and effective collaboration toward a common goal.
Essential Objectives
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Identify various leadership styles and approaches.
- Compare and contrast the effectiveness of various leadership styles as applied in differing contexts.
- Demonstrate initiative by successfully motivating others and taking responsibility in the absence of a formal leadership title.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate productively with diverse individuals and groups toward a common goal.
- Develop a personal leadership philosophy based on self-awareness.

Suggested Progression
This is a self-paced asynchronous course which means that students will be starting and progressing at different rates throughout the term. Once you feel like you have a strong handle on the material, and you have completed all of the assignments for the module, you should feel comfortable moving on, regardless of the pace, as long as you complete the course within the term timeframe.

Assignments Overview
